When to go?

So whats everyones thaughts on when we should leave?

Right now im currently working and saveing money up so I can get all the suplies that I will need and some extra. I plan on working through the holidays till atleast Frebruary. As much as I whant to just leave right now and not turn back I'm not completley ready yet. I'm still studying survival books and practicing skills. But the end of Frebruary or some time in march seems like a good time to me...

what you guys think?

Idk when everyone else wants to go, but i think mid march would be good.

not anytime in the winter or beginning of spring. It's going to be really cold. End of April or May.

Well it truly depends on were we go as far as weather goes. Cause in my area it does get cold but not unberable. So if we were to go somewhere close we can go early spring. I'm down to go whenever.

Depending again on what everyone's expectations are, I absolutely agree that spring is the best time to go. Well, not just spring but early spring.

If you plan to build a permanent shelter, like a cabin, you'll need plenty of time before the next winter arrives... and that will take a lot of time and effort. If you plan to move around then maybe that's not such an issue.

I'd also like to have time to learn the land. If it's a cold climate then the winter will be mostly just about staying alive. You'd need all the time you can get from the point where the weather just begins to get nice, up until the weather takes a turn for the worst. I think late March is the smartest time to head out.

End of March sounds great with me.

If you were thinking about any place around this latitude, there is still LOTS of snow on the ground here at the end of March!
