So where are we headed?
Found this about Canada
http://www.westcoasttrailbc.com/trail_guidebook_map.htm
Not too happy with it. Pretty disappointed actually, it sucks now. This spot is still good, but i don't know now because of the trails rules, so now we have to decide risk gettin busted sneaking into the trail or give up once again and find a new spot?
I think this is way too risky, but still want to hear from you guys.
And with the thought of Alaska, it just seems to far and to extreme, but what are all your thoughts now?
Any new ideas of where to go.

Glad to hear it...
I'd read info just like that, about what a great hiking area the whole island is, and how it's pretty safe to hike all across it because of all the planes flying around. I didn't want to give any more negative feedback than I already have about going there. I was hoping you'd come to the conclusion on your own. I'm glad to hear you did.
I hate to say this but I've already spent months researching where to go. I didn't begin seriously looking at AK because I like the cold, or for some dumb reason like trying to emmulate what Chris McCandless did. All the criteria I explored kept bringing me back to AK. The short and sweet of it is that, all of North America is extremely populated... too populated, in fact. There is truly only one pretty unchartered area left, and unfortunately... that's AK.
AK is far, yes. It is not as extreme as you might think. Admittedly, it would be no piece of cake, either. I'd much rather do this in a nice warm climate and not have to deal with cold weather but I don't think that's an option for what we are talking about here. As I said in an earlier post, the weather has always ruled people's choices to live in certain areas. If we find a nice warm spot, we'd be naive to think that people haven't already come to that same conclusion centuries ago.

Re: So where are we headed?
Well that realy sucks... Ok well in all that being said it seems that Alaska is probably the best place we could go to get away from any type of civilization, so I'm down for Alaska unless we find another spot. Does anyone have any locations in mind? If i'm correct I read that the South Eastern parts have the best weather.

Re: So where are we headed?
The southeast is rainy and overcast in the summer and snowy and overcast in the winter. Not the bitterly frigid winter temps you have in the winter in the interior, but not the nice sunny 70 degree weather you get there in the summer, either.
Also, remember that with humidity and dew point averages being so much higher down south, 20 degrees there affects your body in ways that people think are just as bad as 20 below in the drier interior.
I guess it goes back to intention. If you want to do this for the summer, go for the interior for SURE. Year round, I think the southcentral is ideal, but so do most other people.
Maybe start out in the interior in the spring and take it from there.

The interior or South Central sounds great to me.
